Sports Injury Therapy

I offer expertise in the treatment and management of many different injuries, not just those sustained through sport. These include various musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions, involving muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and nerve irritations. Whether a chronic or recent injury, I use a variety of manual therapies to assist the body in its journey to repair.

These range from general massage and myofacsial release techniques to mobilisations and manipulations. Very often I will also enlist the help of some far eastern techniques, such as cupping and acupuncture to help boost the recovery process further.

These can be very useful in those long term persistent soft tissue complaints, that don't always react to general massage and stretching. I have had particular success with;

  • Chronic neck & back pain

  • Sciatica

  • Shoulder impingement

  • Tennis & golfers elbow

  • Achilles tendonitis

  • IT band syndrome

  • Migraines

As well as treating the site of injury, an important part of the treatment process is to determine the root of the problem. Factors such as muscle imbalance, posture, biomechanics, muscle weakness, work ergonomics, sports equipment and footwear can all play a part in an injury’s development. This is something I've worked hard to help my patients regain full function, and substantially reduce the risk of re-injury.
