Sports Massage

I offer sports massage either at your home (Haslemere, Petersfield, Petworth, Midhurst) or at my private studio in Liphook, Hampshire, and I have done so for almost 20 years now, treating many clients and ailments along the way. Weirdly though sports massage isn’t just for those involved in sports, most of my clientele are non sporty, but suffering with chronic stiffness and pain from either daily activities, general fatigue or illness. Whether the dysfunction arises from posture imbalance, day to day stress, or from a heavy training session, returning the area to normal via massage is really the same from a treatment perspective, preventing it is where it will differ.

Importantly though I have seen great results using various soft tissue techniques, to improve function throughout the body. Depending on the client, and the condition I’m treating, I can/will combine soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, joint manipulation, myofascial release techniques, cupping & acupuncture, in order to get the patient, and the area concerned, back to normal.

I use a western form of acupuncture, commonly known as dry needling, which involves the insertion of very fine needles directly into an associated trigger point.
It works by targeting trigger points in muscles, and when inserted it stimulates a reflexive relaxation, which restores the muscles length, increases local circulation and reduces pain.
It can target any condition where muscle pain or tightness is an issue. This may include such things as neck tension, headaches, back pain, tennis elbow, ITB syndrome, shoulder conditions or knee and achilles pain.

Whether you are suffering with tight calves every morning, a stiff neck after a day at work, whatever it may be, sports massge and my associated techinques can definitely make a difference.
